The 2021 Judge Middleton Series Advocacy and Courtroom preparation

The Family Law Practitioners Association is pleased to present an extended Twilight Series facilitated by Judge Middleton of the Federal Circuit Court of Australia. The extended twilight series is designed to assist practitioners of all levels of experience with advocacy and courtroom preparation. The series is comprised of three (3) sessions as follows:

1. Interim property applications;
2. Issues of risk and domestic violence; and
3. Preparing your client’s evidence for final hearing and the evidence of experts and witnesses.

    Join us for our first session, where Judge Middleton will provide guidance to practitioners about preparation and advocacy relating to interim property applications generally with a particular focus on:

    1. orders sought for partial property settlement;
    2. orders for litigation funding; and
    3. cost orders in the context of interim property applications.

    When: 5.30pm, Thursday 22 April 2021
    Where: In person at The College of Law - Wesley House, 140 Ann Street, Brisbane QLD 4000 or by Webinar. Canapes and beverages will be provided to those attending in person.
    Cost: $50 for members. $70 for non members.

    CPD: Rule 48(2) of the Queensland Law Society Administration Rule 2005 and the Bar Association of Queensland CPD Policy permit, on a self-assessment basis, the treatment of attendance at a conference as a CPD activity at the rate of 1 CPD point per 1 hour of attendance (excluding refreshment breaks).
