Change is afoot: Highlights of the

new amendments

On 19 October 2023, the Commonwealth Parliament passed two bills which will have significant relevance for family law practitioners.

Join Phil Looney KC and Clare Dart, Barrister, as they discuss the major changes coming to the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth) arising from the Family Law Amendment Bill 2023and Family Law (Information Sharing) Bill 2023.

They will highlight the sections of the FLA which will be impacted and how and will briefly discuss submissions made by FLPA and the Family Law Section in that regard.

Planning will soon be underway for a Twilight seminar/webinar on the more practical aspects of these legislative changes in early 2024.  This session will, however, provide a useful introduction to the framework so that our members can be ahead of the major changes to come.
