Twilight Seminar/Webinar
Understanding Perpetrators of
Domestic Violence
Thursday, 10 April 2025
The Family Law Practitioners Association of Queensland is pleased to invite you to our upcoming Twilight Seminar, presented by Dr Brian Sullivan.
Dr. Sullivan brings over 20 years of expertise as an academic, professional practitioner, trainer, supervisor, and educator in the domestic violence sector, both in Australia and internationally. With a foundation in the Duluth coordinated community approach to working with perpetrators, Brian has been a facilitator of men’s programs for many years. His PhD research, completed in the USA, explored the effectiveness of court-mandated programs for male domestic violence offenders.
In addition to his extensive academic background, Brian has contributed his knowledge as a Domestic Violence (DV) Intervention consultant with the Australian Institute of Criminology, the ABC on DV reporting in the Media, Indigenous Services and Men’s DV Intervention programs. He is also a member of the QLD Police Service Domestic and Family Violence Advisory Committee.
Registrants of this seminar will benefit from Brian’s wealth of knowledge, which significantly impacts much of our family law practice. During the session, Brian will discuss the mindset and behaviours of perpetrators, key considerations when engaging with alleged perpetrators and victims of domestic violence, and the advantages and limitations of men’s behavioural change programs.
We encourage all members of the Family Law Practitioners Association of Queensland to attend this informative and important seminar.
