Twilight Seminar/Webinar

Privilege and confidentiality in family law

Thursday, 5 March 2026

Tedd Jordan and Madeleine Murphy will give a presentation on underappreciated aspects of privilege and confidentiality as they relate to family law, including aspects of legal professional privilege and its waiver, settlement and penalty privileges and other confidentiality obligations such as the “Harman” principles.

Many practitioners will have noticed these issues arising more frequently in practice and in the decisions, in some cases having significant impact for clients and even practitioners personally.

Tedd Jordan has practiced in family law since 1989, and as a barrister since 2002.

Madeleine Murphy was called to the bar in 2018 and aside from a busy family law practice, practices in administrative law, regularly and professional discipline matters.
